Required experience working in a consumer retail environment and/or stock yard supervision.
Required experience driving large, extended bed box delivery trucks (18-24 feet).
Candidate must have a valid Oregon Driver’s License, in current standing and a good driving record with the Oregon DMV.
Operation of a POS (cash register) – making sales transactions (cash handling) and assisting in closing the store is preferred.
Work/Professional Experience: Required knowledge of second-hand products and general retail pricing.
Candidate must be able to adapt well to a fast-paced product processing environment (sorting, cleaning, and moving product to the sales floor).
Experience working in a stock yard or warehouse environment.
Customer service orientation – ability to be engaging, friendly and helpful.
Scope of Position: The Driver/Helper Processor Associate’s main work location is the donation receiving area, and outside stock yard.
The Driver/Helper-Processor Associate will have contact with customers on the sales floor while helping customers move large products to their vehicles.
Assist with donation pick-ups and deliveries, unload client donations, help load customer purchases and store cleaning.
The Driver/Helper-Processor Associate is required to drive for special events.
This position also will be asked to cover the front cashier station – greeting customers, working the POS (cash register), cash handling – as well as assisting in closing the store.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Detail oriented and self-starter.
Supervisory experience working in a stock yard or warehouse to work with and supervise volunteers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure to meet goals.
Willingness to be cross-trained in other product processing or sales areas, when needed.
Computer skills with smart phone or laptop are required.
Efficiently working a POS (cash register) system making sales cash transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate machinery for baling clothing and rags for shipment, boxing and bagging unsellable goods.
Assist donation receiving, and other processing areas as required to keep production moving to the sales floor.
Clean all items being received and processed, using as much detail as possible for merchandising presentation – before moving to their designated processing area or sales floor.
Assist in cleaning Thrift Store, and Processing Departments, including helping to organize sales floor merchandising.
Thrift Store staff meetings are required attendance, paid as regular time.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
Ability to operate a wireless phone.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle Ability to lift 75-90 pounds lbs.
Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
Working Conditions: Candidate must be able to work outdoors in stock yard for extended periods of time on projects.
Miscellaneous: The candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal history information check.
