Tasks of Position The following are core and essential responsibilities of this position.
Associates are responsible for completing any and all duties assigned as required for the successful operation of our business.
All associates are required to perform their job duties in a manner which upholds the integrity and honesty of our company.
Reporting for assigned shifts on time, and on a regular basis, capable of communicating clearly and demonstrating suitable physical abilities to safety perform assigned tasks and duties, prepared to provide excellent service.
Promoting sales and exceptional service through active discussions with guests, offering product recommendations, and discussing current promotions and service information.
(Examples while on the sales floor may include: ordering products for special requests, offering special deals on case orders, and locating products for guests).
(Examples while in the check stand may include: asking guests if they need stamps or ice, chatting about Yokes signature items, fresh board and sweet deal suggestions, or providing information on reusable bag rebates).
Understanding and capable of performing the following: requisitioning merchandise from suppliers based on space, merchandise on hand, and guest requests, receiving, opening, unpacking, verifying, tagging, pricing, stocking, and displaying merchandise, assisting guests with wine selection, cleaning and maintaining wine racks and area, coordinating and conducting educational programs and wine tastings on-site or off-site, checking during peak periods as assigned, and using This Ones On Us cards (for products without alcohol) to Make Our Guests Crazy About Us! Operating (at minimum) the following equipment in a correct and safe manner: com-line, phone, baler, box cutter, FM unit (handheld), pallet jack, six wheelers, symbol unit, cash register, and trash compactor.
Communicating and completing guests special order requests with accuracy and timeliness.
Finding a way to make our guests happy.
Ensuring all work performed in the department is completed in accordance with all local, state, federal and company rules, regulations, and policies regarding workplace safety and guest services.
Participating actively in the Grocery Departments accident reduction plan including: cleaning floors, sanitizing, and recognizing shelf order, safety features of all machinery, store evacuation plan, robbery policy, case temperatures, and storing regulations.

All associates are required to report accidents within 24 hours.
