Job Title: Cashier/Checker (Supervisor)

Job Description:
Our ideal Front-end supervisor greets customers at the cash register, rings up groceries, makes change and offers any other help requested.
They will help other cashiers perform their duties, as well as training new cashiers on an as-needed basis.
This person will also be responsible for counting/balancing tills.
Skills Required:
* Reasoning: using common sense while following instructions.
* Math: multiply, divide, add, subtract, make change or measure.
* Language: reading instructions and speaking clearly.
* Excellent verbal communication.
* Excellent customer service.
* Cash handling experience required.
* Point of Sale experience required.
* Prior experience in sales of alcohol/tobacco preferred.
Work Hours: As scheduled.
Candidate will need weekend availability.

* Temperament: Working with people, doing repetitive work, working quickly, doing precise work with accuracy.
* Stress: Using emotional control, tolerating repetition, sustaining attention.
* Vision: The work cannot be done by a non-sighted or legally blind person but could be done by a person with limited vision.

* Lifting: Moderate, requires lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job Functions:
1.
To handle and count money accurately, bag and carry out purchases.
2.
To be able to recognize all produce items and know their PLU number.
3.
Keep front-end work area clean
4.
All front-end duties assigned by Store Management
5.
Have a complete understanding and working knowledge of all check-stand procedures ad policies.
6.
Face merchandise, stock items as needed
7.
Count and balance their till, verify the count/balance of other checkers till.
8.
Ensure smooth operation of equipment such as Scratch/Lotto and Coinstar machines.
9.
Occasionally train and supervise new hires.
10.
Any emergency duties as assigned by Store Manager.

Cashiers are hired to fill a need for front end service and will be used primarily for that purpose.
