JOB SUMMARY
Works closely with the marketing team to coordinate public and media relations for the Wildhorse enterprises using traditional and digital channels.
Includes community service activities; maximizes returns on donations and sponsorships; communicates information designed to keep the public informed of Wildhorse Resort & Casino activities and accomplishments.
Acts as a liaison for Wildhorse Foundation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ensures customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
Writes and distributes interesting and effective press releases that generate media coverage.
Identifies and coordinates speaking engagements and networking opportunities for key personnel.
Creates and maintains close relationships with editors, journalists, freelance writers, news teams, etc.
Develops and keeps up-to-date a media list as well as targeted sub-lists.
Provides photography, footage, artwork, etc.
, as needed to support news stories, editorials, and other coverage.
Arranges and coordinate media interviews and coverage of events on and off the property.
Assists Marketing Director and Marketing staff in creating newsworthy media events, on and off the Resort.
Works with Wildhorse Marketing Director to develop a PR plan and coordinate the PR strategy into marketing activities and other image-enhancing opportunities.
Works with Advertising Manager to create and produce materials as needed.
Develops strategic public relations plans, media events, and announcements related to property-specific initiatives and objectives.
Ensures sufficient publicity and media coverage for Wildhorse Enterprises.
Attends and supports various charity and sponsorship events within the community/ on property.
Conducts media interviews, and professionally appears on-camera and on-air for radio.
Coordinates on-site filming of television shows, feature films, news programs, photo shoots, media familiarization trips, executive interviews, and radio remotes.
Coordinates in-house photographer and videographer for media-related events.
Drafts and distributes press releases; media follow-up calls to garner coverage.
Develops talking points and interview preparation.
Attends regularly scheduled property meetings with marketing and operations teams to determine relevant content for media outreach and develop a strategy for programming.
Prepares and monitors the annual budget, monthly budget justification, and projections.
Develops and implements a strategic plan for awarding donations.
Reviews and response to requests for donations according to donation strategy.
Assists with Wildhorse Foundation work as directed.
Develops and implements strategic plans for sponsorships, including opportunities to cross-promote.
Reviews and responds to requests for sponsorships according to sponsorship strategy.
Plans and attends all on and off-property press events including red carpets, grand openings, player events, concerts, celebrity appearances, nightlife opportunities, etc.
Complies with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
Promotes internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field AND two (2) years related experience, OR, five (5) years of experience in Public Relations, Marketing, or Advertising at the exempt level.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate in word processing and Excel.
Extensive experience using the Internet and e-mail.
Experience supervising professional resources such as ad agencies, direct mail houses, etc.
Requires a High-Security Gaming License clearance.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years of Tribal Gaming experience in the Marketing Department, Casino Management, or Marketing Media.
Experience planning and writing social media posts.
