Job Description Summary Provides health and nutrition expertise and leadership that will stimulate and guide the development of scientifically sustainable nutritious products.
Supports the development of credible and accurate marketing and communication plans based on the nutrition of products.
Influences and guides the strategic planning, execution and evaluation of the nutritional qualities of existing business and new product development.

Job Description Independently apply knowledge of authoritative science, public health policy and food regulation to protect and promote the health and nutrition equity of the organization’s portfolio of packaged food products.
Primary role is to increase knowledge, awareness and “good news” about product nutrition attributes through website communication and internal collaboration.
Expert on the nutrition facts of the company and ability to assess the portfolio or individual products for external programs and regulations such as USDA Child Nutrition program, Child Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative, sodium reduction guidance, claims innovation, and corporate citizenship report.
Position Responsibilities Maintain, assimilate, analyze and report nutrition facts and attributes of the portfolio as well as those of select competitors.
Maintain, assimilate and analyze internal program data (Choose to Lose, Nutri Bite webinars) for evaluation.
Evaluate and upgrade process for maximum efficiency.
Coordinate and/or maintain nutrition information related to innovative health and nutrition package claims.
Evaluate and drive initiatives.
Primary resource of nutrition facts for internal and external customers Integrate with brands (RQI and Marketing) to facilitate communications about product nutrient profiles and claims Develop and review food and nutrition content for integrated websites as well as individual brand website.
Apply expertise in culinary and nutrition trends Independently manage projects from concept through to execution and evaluation.
Independently develop and maintain both internal and external relationships regarding assigned projects.
Participates in external scientific committees and conferences as assigned.
Maintain communication with upper management and brand managers across the company informed of the progress of assigned projects.
Provide nutrition expertise on written marketing materials, product formulations, website material, answering consumer questions, written health claims and nutrition regulations.
Assist with scientific researching findings and publications Must stay knowledgeable of advancements and updates in research and government policy in areas of expertise.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Human Nutrition required, Masters or PhD preferred Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industry Registered Dietitian preferred Advanced communication skills, both oral and written Demonstrated strong project management skills Good relationship skills, both internally and externally, to achieve strong partnership Ability to collaborate with both internal and external partners Sound knowledge of food labeling government regulatory requirements in the processing of food Ability to manage, assimilate and report from large data set Attention to detail and accuracy Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office Experience with a food nutrition databases such as Food Processor , USDA nutrition database Ability to travel 10% of the time Industry-Competitive Benefits Coupled with our compensation and bonus incentive programs, our benefits deliver rewards that are market competitive.
