Job Description Summary Participate in a paid internship program built around your career goals and hands-on projects that impact the organization.
As part of the Lamb Weston University Recruiting Internship Program, Interns work towards completing a Capstone project and are assigned a mentor who will guide and evaluate performance.
Whether you are interested in Agricultural Science, Data Science, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, Manufacturing, Food Science, Marketing, or Engineering, our highly selective summer intern program has projects that will help you build the next stage in your career.
- Paid internship, May – August (actual dates may vary) - Gain real-world working experience through dynamic projects assigned by your mentor and assigned department - Network and learn from executives, department leaders, high performers, and fellow interns across the business - Receive guidance and feedback from your assigned mentor throughout the program - Professional development events providing tools that will help after the internship and after graduation Job Description Support the Lamb Weston Global Engineering team with several projects related to engineering in the manufacturing industry.
A skilled mentor with be assigned to the intern for the duration of the internship.
This mentor will provide training and complete weekly reviews to assess progress and answer questions.
Interns will be assigned projects based on their skill sets and area of interest.
Projects and duties that may be assigned include but are not limited to: Capital Projects: Collaborate with the plant project engineers and leadership to complete capital projects including the development of new designs, policy standards, and technical engineering automation processes Assist in the design, revision, maintenance, performance analyses, and cost impacts of plant drawings.
(Using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) Design: Research and develop several detailed drawings and execute a review process within the Global Engineering Team by using established CAD standards and drawing nomenclatures Organize and capable of planning and executing work against developed plans including contingency planning Support/Controls: Assist with the technical automation and control expert to support the needs of the plant with the day-to-day developments, troubleshooting, and maintenance Interface to equipment and instrumentation including optimization and calibration, specifying, and interface programming Process Support (Utilities): With a focus on improving efficiencies of our plant equipment, this position will utilize existing tools and apply engineering principles to develop the structure, process, and plan with the goal of improving reliability and efficiencies in the manufacturing process support areas of boilers & steam systems, as well as refrigeration systems.
Work independently and engage with current Lamb Weston staff across different departments, in addition to following industry standards in the execution of assignments Technical Innovation: Research / develop innovative technology to drive business objectives (including but not limited to: ideation, literature review, design, fabrication, testing, validation, standardization and/or report out) in one of the following areas: Foreign Material Removal, Cutting, New product technology optimization Manage the above workflow in the allotted timeline whilst engaging technical innovation staff, lateral internal stakeholders, and possible outside vendor(s) related to project(s) Technical Specifications: Research and develop several specifications by referencing industry standards and engage in the Technical Review Committee Organized and capable of planning and executing work against developed plans including contingency planning Plant Reliability Engineering Intern: Assist in the development and implementation of improved equipment reliability in a manufacturing environment through the identification and analysis of top losses, evaluation of work processes/new capital equipment, and management of repair and maintenance activities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, loss and root-cause analysis, daily/weekly preventative maintenance, and asset health reviews of existing equipment for the maintenance and production department Basic & Preferred Qualifications Must be currently enrolled or a recent graduate of an Engineering or related program Juniors, Seniors, or Master’s degree students preferred but also accepting recent grads Minimum GPA 3.
