Grandview Church of the Nazarene is located in Grandview, WA.

The GVNaz staff are professional and supportive in a small office environment that engages the public and congregation members daily.
A willingness to work alongside and support the staff is preferred.
The church bookkeeper is responsible for managing, maintaining financial records and transactions of the church.
This includes recording income, expenses, donations, payroll, quarterly reporting and other financial activities, as well as ensuring compliance with accounting principles and church policies.
The bookkeeper will work closely with the church staff and volunteers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
This position reports to the office manager.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records of the church, including income, expenses, and bank transactions.
· Prepare and process financial transactions, such as payments, invoices, and receipts; including clerical and copying work as needed.
· Record and reconcile donations, tithes and offerings, ensuring proper documentation and acknowledgement.
· Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis and as requested.
· Monitor and manage the church’s financial accounts, including bank accounts, ensuring appropriate fund allocations.
· Prepare and file payroll, maintain records, ensuring accurate deductions for church staff.
· Assist with budget preparations and monitor actual expenses against budget.
· Coordinate with external vendors, such as auditors or tax advisors, as necessary for financial audits or compliance purposes.
· Maintain organized filing system for financial documents, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
· Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial records.
Qualifications and skills:
· Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in church or nonprofit organization.
· High proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks desktop or online version), Church windows, spreadsheets (Excel), and MS Word.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping.
· Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with church staff and volunteers.
· Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
· Understanding of church finances and familiar with common church financial practices and terminology is a plus.
· High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.
