The Accountant I position performs various data gathering, tracking, and record keeping; performs financial and statistical analyses as directed in one or more financial areas including auditing, budgeting, cost accounting, and general accounting.
The primary duties of this position are accounts payable and/or payroll, general ledger accounting, and special projects as assigned by the Controller.
The position must exhibit a strong understanding of accounting concepts, practices, and principles in accordance with current generally accepted accounting principles with an emphasis on the healthcare industry.
This position reports to the Controller.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a major in Accounting from an accredited institution is required.
A minimum of three years of professional accounting and payroll experience preferred.
Ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
Demonstrates satisfactory planning, organizing and prioritization skills.
Exhibits good interpersonal skills to meet and work with people easily; strive to provide timely, high quality resolution to customer issues and concerns while supporting management.
Demonstrate strong computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing and financial management software.
Above average skills in Microsoft Excel is vital.
Lift 40 pounds and move office equipment, supplies and records.
