DATES: June 24-July 18, no school on Fridays or July 4, 4 hours per day
LOCATION: Amistad for the Amistad/Eastgate combined program
HOURS: 70 total hours (56 instruction, 6 prep, 8 setup/cleanup)

Endorsement in Elementary Education 3.
Endorsement in ELL/ESL 4.
Bilingual in Spanish and English (STAMP test) 5.

Successful experience working with Multilingual Learners.

Able to demonstrate knowledge of second language acquisition and the effective methods of instruction for ML students.
3.
Experience using a push in model of support for langauge development.
4.
Punctual and consistent attendance.
Job Responsibilities: 1.
Work with all summer school classroom teachers to adapt the thematic based instruction and activities designed to increase communication skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) of all the students in the classroom, including MLs.
2.
Document student progress.
3.
Maintain records as necessary for efficient procedures and evaluations.
4.
Track language development growth using the WIDA can dos for all MLs to determine growth and langauge needs.
5.
Attend and participate in program and staff meetings designed to assist in conducting a strong summer school program.
6.
Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives and methods.
7.
Establish and maintain cooperative and positive professional relationships with other staff members.
8.
Prepare for and participate in parent involvement activities.
9.
Plan for and supervise paraeducators.
10.
Maintain an orderly, positive classroom atmosphere.
11.
Be discreet and confidential with all school related information.
12.
Implement the requirements of IDEA Section 504 and ADA in the education of students.
13.
Complete Time and Effort sheets, as well as time verification forms, when needed.
14.
Other duties as assigned by the Summer School Administrator.

After eight days if an in-building employee is qualified for the position, the principal will offer the employee the position.
In the case that more than one in-building employee is interested in a position, the position will be offered to the qualified and senior employee.
If a position is not filled in-building after the eight day period, the position will be offered to the qualified, most senior in-district applicant, if any.
Teachers with a summative evaluation score of 1 or 2 are not eligible to transfer unless agreed upon by the District and Association.
