CPR Educator

Overview: Salary range: Min: $20 Max: $35 Reports to Director of Community Health & Outreach.
Is responsible for teaching staff and community members cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) & First Aid using American Heart Association guidelines and standards.
Reviews new information and resources and makes recommendations re: CPR/First Aid courses.
Maintains current status as an American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Instructor.
Provides appropriate feedback to students and corrects area(s) of inadequate performance tactfully.
Uses principals of adult learning, but is able to adjust teaching methods to accommodate different levels of learning & learning styles, including adolescents and young children (ages 8-12).
Use and demonstrate proper infection control measures between each student participating.
Communicates effectively with participants and education department staff.
Responsibilities: Is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of manikins after each session taught.
Maintains established departmental policies & procedures, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Completes class rosters and returns course materials, evaluations and manikins to proper location.
Collects class fee when necessary.
Follows hospital dress code and presents self in a professional manner.
Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision and quality commitment of Good Shepherd Health Care System.
Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or GED, Certified American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor required.
Certified First Aid Instructor; Healthcare professional desired.
