*Title - Technique Teacher*
*Job Summary -*
* *Teach Contemporary technique classes with beginning-intermediate dancers ages 6- 17*
* *You would have the opportunity to help create a positive environment for dancers that includes creative games and technical principles.
*
* *We do ask our teachers to do some work outside of class; it will be 1-2 hours a month and focuses on you connecting with your students and their families.
*
* *Teachers are our most important asset and we love to invest in them by giving continuing education, flexible schedule, paying well for their experience and honoring their time.
*
*Qualifications -*
* *Taught for at least 3 years (not necessarily dance),*
* *It's for contemporary classes, but experience in teaching jazz, ballet or acro will help secure the position*
* *Loves kids and has a desire to create a safe place for them *
* *Knows how to choreograph dances,*
* *Is kind and respectful to kids, teens & parents, even when they might not be in return,*
* *Is willing to learn and implement creative games and choreographic principles into their class,*
* *Can teach multiple age and technical levels, sometimes at once, Is willing to sub other classes,*
* *Can guide students in creating their own dance, with giving directions, suggestions and support to them,*
* *Has a positive, team-oriented attitude*
*Responsibilities -*
* *Teach dance classes in kind and professional manner, showing up 15 min early and staying until all students have been picked up,*
* *Come to class with music and groomed neatly, Learn our studio software system, iClasspro, for attendance,*
* *Work with students to choreograph a 2-3 minute dance and have it be well rehearsed*
* *Be present at the showcase and have certain roles assigned to you,*
* *Attend monthly meetings via zoom *
* *Be ready and willing to learn our systems for communication (Slack, google drive),*
* *Follow curriculum and track progress for sub*
