Major/Essential Functions
Provides Oncology in-patient care, outpatient care, and in-patient consultation services
Supervises and teaches students and residents in both in-patient and outpatient care
Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance such as committee work
Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

Required Qualifications

degree
Licensed, or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in Internal Medicine
Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in oncology
Preferred Qualifications
Board certification in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine
Board certification in Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine
Experience teaching Medical Students and Residents
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher
