Eastern Oregon University has an exciting career opportunity for a motivated, creative, and inspiring Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Coordinator.
This is a Full-Time, 12-Month position in the department of Athletics.

The Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the offensive unit of the team, including practice, game preparation, and competitions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the head coach in all facets of managing a competitive NAIA football program, oversight and supervisor of assistant coaches in each offensive position, recruitment, retention, and graduating student-athletes; academic supervision, community engagement, and fundraising.
Must adhere to all rules and regulations of the NAIA, Frontier Conference, and Eastern Oregon University.

Responsibilities Recruiting – As a recruiter for the football program successfully research, scout, evaluate, and contact prospective student-athletes while operating within the guidelines of the department, institution, and NAIA at all times.
As an on-campus recruiter collaborate with other departments and university staff in designing and conducting official campus visits in accordance with department, university, and NAIA guidelines.
Establish and develop positive relationships with appreciate high school and junior college officials in order to recruit prospective students-athletes.
A focus should be placed on the Eastern Oregon 10 county region and the state of Oregon in order to promote the university mission.
Training – Plan, organize, and conduct all practices for the offensive unit.
Evaluate student-athletes performance in competition, practice, and conditioning situations in order to identify strengths and areas of improvement.
Develop instructional opportunities to improve skills based on fundamentals of activity.
Incorporate specific learning opportunities for offensive positions associated with team and communicate with all members of coaching staff.
Provide leadership during competition, practice, and conditioning sessions to facilitate proper technique and attitudes towards each other, opponents, and athletic department.
Develop an annual offensive playbook that includes a teaching progression section.
Communicate with Athletic Training Staff regarding injuries of student-athletes and their ability to participate.
Adhere to all regulations regarding the health and welfare of student-athletes as determined by the medical staff.
Academics/Conduct – Oversee and support academic progress of assigned team members in order to achieve satisfactory progress towards graduation and eligibility.
Primarily recruit academically prepared student-athletes that meet/exceed admission standards.
Strive to achieve a cumulative team GPA each term of 3.
0 or greater.
Refer student-athletes to appropriate university resources (learning center, advisors etc.
) when deemed necessary based on academic performance.
Actively assist in the MAPP program within the department.
Understand and communicate all university academic policy, as well as NAIA eligibility requirements to student-athletes.
Assist head coach in developing process and plan to implement the NAIA Champions of Character into overall program.
Competitions – Develop sound game plans and strategies for offensive unit in preparation of competitions.
Organize and conduct film breakdown in preparation for all opponents.
Manage team related game day activities for the offensive unit including practices, walk-throughs, and pregame talk.
Coordinate with Athletic Department staff needs for practice and competitions (field space, etc.
).
Communicate with game officials, fans, opponent, and media in a manner that does not misrepresent or compromise the program, department and/or University.
Public relations/Fundraising – Participate in public relations activities as approved by taking part in interviews with print, radio, or television media.
Develop and manage football camps and clinics following NAIA and University policy and procedures.
Represent the university at professional, civic, booster, or alumni events as requested.
Take an active role in any general Booster Club and/or department activities intended to secure resources for department.
Be actively engaged in the community.
Administrative Duties –Assist with other duties that are assigned by head coach or Athletic Director.
Cooperate with all other coaches and staff in order to further enhance the operations of the entire department and university.
It is an expectation that you conduct yourself with the highest level of professionalism, character, and integrity at all times.
Competency with NAIA, Frontier Conference, and EOU polies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
3-5 years of prior collegiate coaching experience.
Discretion along with solid and sound judgment are essential.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective relationships with the community, faculty, students, and staff.
Requires creativity and initiative coaching students at all athletic ability levels.
Highly developed analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
Must be able to effectively use a computer Word / HUDL.
Must be able to perform technical aspects of the sport.
Evening and weekend work is required.
Physically demanding position.
Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check.
Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
