The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin is searching for an audience marketing manager to lead paid subscription and retail sales growth strategies in Walla Walla and surrounding areas.
Successful candidates will have a proven history of successful sales growth using digital, print and in person events to engage audiences and drive sales.
The Audience Marketing Manager will work closely with departments across the organization including news, subscriber service and others to ensure the Union-Bulletin is finding and engaging with news consumers throughout the area.
The Audience Marketing Manager will develop and deploy promotions using a variety of marketing channels to grow digital and print subscriptions as well as with Single Copy personnel to grow retail sales.

*General Summary of Responsibilities* Responsible for growing paid audiences using a variety of methods including email and social media marketing as well as in person events, direct mail and other marketing tactics.
The Audience Growth Manager will work closely with the Director of Audience Growth to develop and implement best practices for paid audience growth and retention.
The Audience Growth Manager will make suggestions on pricing strategies across subscription types and retail locations.
*Essential Job Functions* 1.
Assistance in coordinating logistics of subscriber events, raffles, reader rewards and other programs that grow or retain audience.
2.
Building out complete sales events that drive paid circulation in both print and digital.
3.
Works to support retention of existing subscribers.
4.
Data extracting and sorting for audience, content production and content distribution.
Mine user data that contributes to statistical analysis and modeling that solves digital reader revenue needs.
Assist with campaign monitoring and reporting.
5.
Assistance in growing our email program.
Cleaning and building lists and templates to optimize deliverability, content and monetization.
Support as we switch to new email service provider.
6.
Ad hoc research, vendor outreach and projects related to subscription and audience growth.
7.
Support in maintaining Audience Growth and Retention Timelines and other organizational tools.
8.
Oversight of Retail and Rack sales including management of single copy employees including helping start new locations and assisting with retail collections as needed *Other Duties* Works with single copy distribution and vendors as needed.
Works at all company sponsored events including 4th of July in the Park, Readers’ Choice and others *3.
* Other duties as assigned and other projects as needed during peak traffic.
*Job Requirements* *Experience* Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and service industry.
Prior newspaper audience experience will be preferred.
Must exhibit a proven track record of marketing ability with measurable results using both print and digital media.
*Skills and Abilities / Lifting Requirements (Maximum weight required)* Must be proficient in Microsoft suite.
Works well with data.
Experience with email marketing software and social media platforms.
Enjoys meeting new people and building relationships.
Must be able to lift up to 25#s with occasional 50#s required.
*Minimum Education, certifications or licenses* A minimum of a two-year degree.
*Contact with Others* Frequent contact with internal employees, outside client and the general public in person and online.
*Supervision Received* Works independently and as part of a team using established policies and procedures as guidelines.
*Supervision of others* NA *Pressure of Work* The position will be working as a team toward achieving monthly audience volumes goals that will involve significant focus and attention to detail.
Will be expected to create and execute projects achieving reasonable return on investment.
Will be expected to innovate and build what may not have been built before to achieve results.
Can expect changing priorities and interruptions as needs shift due to changing market conditions.

*Primary Job Location* Walla Walla in person and partial remote.
Some travel is required.
