This position involves developing and delivering curriculum, creating a hands-on learning environment, and preparing students for successful careers in the machining industry.
The instructor will play a key role in shaping the next generation of machinists by providing comprehensive instruction, promoting safety standards, and staying abreast of industry advancements.
As the Director, they will be responsible for the long-term stewardship of the Manufacturing Technology program and have specific job descriptions assigned to them.
This may include curriculum development, laboratory management, student assessment, program review, industry collaboration, program promotion, and some administrative responsibilities.
This position reports to the Dean for Career & Technical Education.
The salary range for this position is $71,457-$75,168 for a 176-day contract over the Instructional Year (Fall/Winter/Spring Quarters).
Additional compensation may be available for assignment of summer quarter courses or courses taught outside of the full-time position during fall, winter and spring quarters.
This position is in a hard to fill discipline eligible for additional money per MOU 002 – Hard to Fill Supplemental Pay and would receive an additional stipend of $5,950.
This is not a guarantee of compensation and is subject to funding.
Relocation expenses are part of the employment offer for the successful candidate if the candidate relocates to the Tri-Cities area from outside of a 175-mile radius.

Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Machining, Manufacturing, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), or related field from an institutionally accredited college or university; OR Completion of a formal training program in machining, such as a journeyman apprenticeship or an accredited post-secondary institution; AND Five years of work experience in machining/manufacturing and/or CNC within the past ten (10) years (recent teaching experience, industry training experience, or a combination may be substituted year for year for recent welding field experience); and Candidates must meet at least two of the following requirements: Experience or demonstrated commitment to teaching, mentoring, and/or engaging in services to support the success of Hispanic students or other underserved populations.
Demonstrated knowledge of challenges faced by Hispanic students and/or faculty or other underserved populations.
Proven ability to address and mitigate the disproportionate impacts faced by Hispanic students or other underserved populations at an educational institution or in the workplace.
Experience or demonstrated commitment to facilitating Hispanic students or other underserved populations navigating a higher education institution.
Experience or demonstrated commitment to integrating elements of culturally relevant and inclusive pedagogy.
Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and in Spanish; NIMS (National Institute of Metalworking Society) or other industry related certifications; Experience teaching community college students or providing industry training; and Experience with CAD/CAM software, such as SolidWorks and MasterCAM.
