Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Director for Student Support Services (SSS/TRiO) to be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the federally-funded Student Support Services/TRiO project, including personnel management, fiscal oversight, project evaluation and intercampus collaboration.
The SSS/TRiO project serves first-generation, low-income and disabled students.
All services provided to SSS participants are incorporated into seven identified program objectives that meet student retention and graduation/transfer goals.
This position provides 33 percent of academic advising responsibilities.
This position provides leadership for the administration, supervision, and development of policies, procedures, annual reporting to the Department of Education and budget implementation related specifically to the Student Support Services program.
This position reports to the Vice President for Student Services.

Primary Responsibilities Provide leadership, direction, coordination, management and budget development for the SSS/TRiO program; Fiscal development and ongoing oversight of SSS budgets; Coordinate, supervise, evaluate and direct activities for the SSS project; Provide leadership for strategic departmental planning and development of guidelines, policies and procedures for SSS; Evaluate Student Support Services (SSS) project outcomes; Direct the selection, training and evaluation within the SSS projects; Supervise and provide personal and academic services to SSS project participants; Develop, administer and ensure policies and procedures in accordance with the College and the Department of Education and TRiO programs; Monitor contractual obligations with Department of Education, COE and other TRiO projects; Conduct meetings with SSS staff; Attend regional and national TRiO meetings and meetings sponsored by the Department of Education; Establish and maintain communication channels and procedures congruent with the College’s mission and meet SSS project objectives; Maintain a close working relationship with other Diversity/Outreach and other CBC departments and personnel; Represent CBC with community agencies regarding TRiO; and Carry out other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Diversity and Outreach.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an institutionally accredited college or university; and Experience in designing, managing or implementing SSS or similar Federal projects.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education, Education Administration, Educational Guidance and Counseling or Public Administration from an institutionally accredited college or university.
