Job Goal:
Oversees the overall supervision, management, and development of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Represents the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program throughout Umatilla and Morrow County CASA Case Management Oversee general case management ensuring confidentiality, adequate supervision, and the safety of, and best outcomes for each child.
Assign cases, attend court hearings, manage active cases, manage and review monthly reports, submit reports to the court, close cases, and evaluate the program.
Maintain to date on CASA standards and ensure compliance.
Screening, Recruiting Volunteers Help in designing and executing recruitment and screening processes for incoming CASA volunteers Keep necessary and appropriate volunteer records Retaining, Recognizing Volunteers Create and implement annual appreciation activities, conduct an annual survey, etc.
Training Lead training of new volunteers, create additional training as needed, and develop and maintain an annual in service calendar.
Program Development with FACE Director Analyze and evaluate programming, and develop new programming to fit organizational needs Prepare program reports and monitor metrics with the FACE Director Coordinate the design, implementation, and analysis of annual surveys, program evaluation, and outcome measurements Aid in the preparation and completion of the annual CASA budget.
Identify funding sources (grant opportunities) and ensure that the budget is being met every month.
Collect and tabulate program effectiveness measures Staff Development and Support Coach, develop, and improve employee performance through effective communication, documentation and feedback, performance assessments, review without rework, and other positive performance management strategies designed to increase individual productivity, accountability, engagement, and overall team performance.
Maintain appropriate separation between the direction to perform work and the actual performance of tasks assigned to others to eliminate redundancies and inefficiencies in workflow, as well as to ensure fiscally responsible use of UMHS funds and resources.
General Staff Responsibilities: Participate in staff meetings, conferences, training sessions and workshops as assigned Demonstrate familiarity with employment policies, performance standards, work plan and objectives of Agency Maintain congenial and respectful relations with staff, children, families and community Keep current and accurate records and file reports on time Maintain confidentiality in regards to staff and family information Maintain objectives and professional standards Improve self skills and education Fulfill role as mandated reporter as stated in Child Abuse and Neglect Policy Be present at work in order to provide consistency of services Be a contributory team member in a positive/productive manner Demonstrate commitment to mission, values, and policies in the performance of daily duties And or any other duties deemed necessary by your supervisor Education Requirements: BA in Social Services, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field Experience and Skills Requirements: One year of experience in social work Supervisory experience Strong skills in volunteer management, program planning, and child advocacy Knowledge and understanding of child abuse and neglect Requires effective interpersonal and oral communication skills for supervisory duties Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to research best practices and compliance guidance, complete work accurately, meet deadlines, and follow through on job duties and projects Requires the ability to use abstract reasoning, problem solving, planning, and analytical skills Community service experience (preferred) Ability to coordinate and/or conduct training sessions (preferred) Multi cultural experience (preferred) Administrative background (preferred) Knowledge of risk/protective factors model and substance abuse prevention (preferred) Adequate means of transportation Desire to work with low income children and their families Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Observe, compare, and monitor behaviors, records, and data to determine compliance with prescribed standards Comprehend, analyze, and make inferences and references from written material Lift and move heavy and/or bulky objects up to 50 lbs.
Sit for long periods of time with a keyboard and do data entry at a computer.
Occasionally required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to drive, walk and climb stairs in the office and in a variety of community based and home settings.
Drive a private or Agency vehicle; must possess a valid driver's license and personal automobile or provide a plan that will allow fulfillment l the of position requirements.
(A DMV Record check will be conducted prior to hire) Occasional filing is required.
This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend as necessary; Produce written documentation with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.

Work Environment/Conditions: The work environment includes indoor office environments or comparable spaces and community spaces, with some exposure to outdoor weather when traveling between sites.
