DEFINITION OF POSITION:
The supervisor is responsible to the Imaging Manager.
This role will be split into 70% patient care and 30% administrative duties as determined by the Imaging Manager.
Administrative duties includes supervising the day-to-day activities related to the diagnostic imaging services that may include radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, PET, and magnetic resonance imaging services.
He or She oversees the technical staff schedule, represents the Imaging department at assigned hospital committees, assist in reviewing department policies and procedures, completes annual reviews, provides managerial coverage in the absence of manager, assists with onboarding of new employees, participates in the interview and hiring process and performs other administrative duties as assigned by manager.
The deparment support personel will report directly to the supervisor.
In collaboration with the Imaging manager, the supervisor facilitates daily operations, and liaises with other patient care departments to ensure service integration.
Establishes work priorities, and assists staff in resolving operational issues/problems.
Implements and enforces adherence to department and organization standards, policies and procedures.
Identifies and implements cost savings and best practices, using Lean or other process improvement methods and concepts.
Supports multiple affilation imaging programs for student clinical training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
HS Diploma or GED Or equivalent education/experience
Graduate of ACERT Accredited Imaging Program with a minimum of an Associates Degree, Baccalaureate Degree Perferred.
Multiple ARRT Modality Board Certifications will bring strength to the position.
Work experience:
3+ years progressively responsible professional imaging technologist/specialist experience which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of imaging procedures and/or techniques.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite required;
Strong written and verbal communication skills required;
Work independently with limited supervision, required;
Work collaboratively within a team setting required; and
Maintain composure in stressful situations required.
