Position: Deli Manager
Reports to: Store Management
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Operate a profitable deli
* Monitor and maintain profit margins
* Maintain proper inventory levels
* Order merchandise from various vendors on a weekly basis
* Minimize inventory shrinkage
* Maintain physical appearance of the deli
* Maintain department sanitation
* Keep deli in compliance with state regulations
* Create weekly schedule for the deli employees
* Prepare and package deli food items
* Help and serve customers both at the deli counter and via telephone
Skills Required:
* Strong background in customer service and food preparation
* Good product knowledge of deli food items
* Ability to calculate sales margins
* Ability to schedule and maintain wage costs
* Must be able to work well in a fast pace and sometimes stressful environment
* Must work well alongside deli staff and other department heads
* Must have strong leadership skills
* Must have strong critical thinking skills
* Candidate will need to be familiar with, and be able to operate deli equipment (fryer, rotisserie, slicer, scale, stove etc.
)
Position will be full time, around 40 hours per week.
Some weekend work may be required as needed.
Candidate will need to have a valid Washington State Food Handlers Permit.
Wage rate is dependent on experience.
