Forest Officer – SEAT Base Manager ($4527.
00 – $6912.
00, Monthly plus benefits).
Four (4) years in wildland fire suppression OR bachelor’s degree in forestry or closely related natural resources field and one (1) year of wildland fire suppression.
One 3-6 month season is equivalent to one year of experience for seasonal positions only.
18 years of age
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Will be required to take and pass the physical fitness Work Capacity Test at the arduous level.
Note: Must obtain the Class B Warden certification within the trial service period.
General Duties
Maintain records of aircraft flight time, maintenance, and duty day schedules for contractor air crews and aircraft.
Prepare and submit daily aircraft use summaries, aircraft status, and incident specific cost summaries.
Provide daily safety and operational briefing to air crews.
Review Daily Risk Assessments with air crews.
Observe, receive, and obtain information from all relevant sources.
Provide mission information and briefing prior to aircraft launch.
Conduct pre-use inspections of Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs).
Assist with grounds and facility maintenance.

Knowledge of basic aviation safety.
Preference given to qualified NWCG Single Engine Airtanker Manager (SEMG)

Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
