Wage Range: $45K-$75K ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ensure customer satisfaction and return business by promoting prompt, efficient, and friendly service that promotes Hamley’s service brand.
Responsible for overseeing and maintaining profitable store operations.
Supervising retail staff to include hiring, firing, scheduling, professional development, coaching, counseling, and evaluation.
Ensure that staff maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
Responsible for preparing annual budget projections and work plans, and for the financial management of that budget and expenditures.
Directing retail operations to include selecting and ordering merchandise, establishing pricing policies, displaying merchandise, developing and executing advertising campaigns, planning sales, and liquidating merchandise.
Responsible for inventory including: identifying and proposing new items, preparing purchase requisitions, reordering inventory, maintaining accurate inventory records, running reports for tracking purposes, and month-end inventory counts.
Responsible for verifying received merchandise, pricing, coding, etc.
Reconcile and monitor daily sales receipts and cash drops, providing performance counseling as needed.
Promote an organized, appealing floor plan and product display modes that entice guest sales.
Performs as a working Manager, filling in as needed to maintain Store operations, including fill-in for absent staff in all capacities (sales/customer service; shipping & receiving; administrative duties; facility maintenance and repair; facility major cleaning).
Supervising and assisting with e-commerce planning, expansion, and operations.
Stay abreast of emerging trends in Western merchandise.
Develop working relationships with saddle shop managers, saddle makers, and leatherworkers to discuss leather goods sales, areas of interest, and opportunities.
Interact with the public as appropriate – sharing information about Hamley’s history, and retail products, and addressing customer complaints/concerns promptly and professionally.
Coordinate with regional tourism groups, to promote visits to Hamley’s.
Receiving and researching customer requests for Hamley saddle and historic Hamley product inquiries; providing certification as soon as possible.
Oversee management of Hamley’s social media and websites.
Responding to customer inquiries regarding sales and general Hamley information.
Ensure that the store complies with safety regulations and codes, promoting a safe workplace and guest safety.
Comply with the employee Handbook, and applicable state, city, tribal, and federal laws and codes.
Planning, directing, and executing major projects and sales events.
Performing other duties as requested and required.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: Hamley’s Store staff SIGNATORY ABILITY: Budget expenditures Store correspondence Personnel actions ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS: Management files Employee files MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Retail Management, Business Management, or related field and two (2) years of retail management experience, OR, four (4) years of retail management experience directly responsible for retail operations.
Strong financial management skills to estimate revenue and expenses, manage inventory, and develop annual business plans.
Experience creating and managing a full annual budget.
Experience with Inventory Management and control; including purchasing, pricing, discounting, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Experience with creating Media Marketing strategies and Media sales.
Computer skills with Word, spreadsheets, databases, Outlook, POS, and inventory systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Perform routine office functions: work at a computer station with repetitive motions of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; bend, lift, and maneuver items up to 50 lbs.
; use ladders for product displays; and walk up and down stairs.
Internet and social media expertise.
Requires a criminal history background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Retail management experience with Western apparel and leather goods.
