The role of the Planning Specialist is to support Plant Management reporting, planning, coordination, and implementation of the Earned Value Management System.
The Planning Specialist supports the Planning Manager in interfacing with other Project organizations as well as the WTP Risk Program Manager to ensure the Plant Management baseline is integrated with the larger WTP project.
The Planning Specialist supports Plant Management participation in the WTP Risk program by identifying and quantifying emerging risks, assigning mitigating actions and tracking actions to completion.
The Planning Specialist prepares and maintains metrics, prepares period reports, and coordinates issues management tasks and systems, coordinates issues management tasks and systems, including Corrective Action Management, and Project Action Items.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
Perform activities and meet the goals and objectives established by the Plant Management Represent Plant Management for interfaces with other project organizations on issues affecting the Department Risk Program Identify and quantify emergent threats and opportunities.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and assign actions.
Track the status of risk program actions to completion.
Interface for and represent Plant Operations for the WTP risk program.
Reporting Develops, distributes, and statuses periodic reports supporting the Project Risk Program, Corrective Action Management Program, Project Action Item List, Monthly Summary Report, and others Develop and maintain metrics for plant management processes.
Corrective Action Management Become proficient in Corrective Action Management software and procedures Coordinate with plant management personnel through resolution of corrective action and recommendations to closure Support condition reporting status meeting for plant management corrective actions and recommendations Working with the Issues Management Review Group Chair, Plant Management organizational managers, Responsible Managers, and other CAMP roles, support Corrective Action Management screening, action planning, action tracking and closure Supports the Planning Manger during Project-wide reviews and activities, including Project Peer Review, Cold Commissioning Management Assessment, Operational Readiness Review, proposals, and estimates at completion Perform assessments and surveillances as assigned Ensuring the standards set by the conduct of operations procedures are upheld in the planning and performance of all facility activities Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment This job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is responsible.
Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s request SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES NA Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in project controls, planning, risk management, and issues management, including an understanding of Earned Value Management System.
An advanced knowledge of Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other reporting tools highly preferred.
OR Associates Degree in engineering and 12 years of experience in project controls, planning, risk management, and issues management, including an understanding of Earned Value Management System.
An advanced knowledge of Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other reporting tools highly preferred.
OR Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline and 10 years of experience in project controls, planning, risk management, and issues management, including an understanding of Earned Value Management System.
