Job Duties/Scope Of Work
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide direction, guidance, and oversight to ~ 20 bargaining unit personnel.
The organization provides support for projects, Road Maintenance deliveries, equipment moves, radioactive and hazardous waste transportation, snow removal, heavy equipment operations, etc.
Job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Plan and schedule resources, as necessary, to meet project priorities and the mission.
- Work directly with bargaining unit in the field to maintain continuity of safe operations.
- Work to address and resolve bargaining unit grievances and concerns.
- Interact with all levels of Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS), project management, the
- Department of Energy (DOE), and customers.
- Ensure that fully qualified and trained personnel are assigned to perform job tasks.
- Address customer and personnel complaints to achieve resolution.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are properly maintained per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
- Manage personnel and resources within budget constraints.
- Oversight of workflows, work packages, sequences of work, processes, and best practices to ensure efficient operations and meet project objectives.
- Shall be responsible for generating event and occurrence reports.
- Successfully manage diverse work requirements and changing priorities in a bargaining unit environment as it relates to transportation and heavy equipment operations.
- Supervision of heavy equipment operation, equipment moves, etc.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS degree - OR - an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with supervising or leading multiple bargaining unit personnel.
- Progressive management or supervision experience - OR - experience in a leadership capacity (team lead, project management, foreman, etc.
).
- Knowledgeable of DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Knowledgeable of training, policies and procedures required for employees to safely and successfully perform assigned tasks.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and creatively solve problems.
Desired Qualifications
- 8 years of experience, preferably in transportation.
- Previous field work supervisor (FWS) experience.
- Familiarity with the Craft Specific Hazard Analysis (CSHA) and Employee Job Task Analysis (EJTA) processes as well as the Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council (HAMTC) collective bargaining agreement is desired but not required for consideration.
Compensation & Benefits
Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425
Grade 19: $114,475 - $144,325
Grade 20: $126,025 - $158,875
